Learning at Olympus High School

Do you supply books with your online courses?

For any high school class that requires a text, an e-book is included with the price of the class. Similarly, required materials are provided for dual-credit courses.

How often will I talk to a teacher?

You will have regular communication with your teacher. For more information, please see Student Support.

Can I work at my own pace with high school classes?

With our high school classes, you can work at the pace that is best for you—and learn online at times and places that are best for you. Classes must be completed within a calendar year and regular communications from your teacher and the school will help you stay on track. However, it is your responsibility to keep up with coursework and review your progress to ensure class completion within the one-year timeframe. There is no limit to the number of classes you can take at one time. In order to be considered a full-time student, you must be currently enrolled in at least five classes and have completed at least five assignments over the last month (in any single class or combination of classes). If you do not meet both of these qualifications, you will be considered a part-time student. Olympus High School makes no claim, representation or warranty that part-time students will meet compulsory attendance requirements, if applicable to them, in their state or country of residence. Part-time students are assumed to be taking coursework at Olympus High School as a supplement to their regular school attendance if at or below the age of compulsory attendance for their state or country of residence.

Can I work at my own pace with dual-credit courses?

No. With dual-credit courses, you will have regular readings, assignments and discussions. You will be expected to meet due dates and can work ahead if you choose. You will also have attendance and participation requirements. However, the online learning format lets you learn at times and places that fit your schedule. An Olympus High School representative can answer your questions about dual-credit courses and help you determine which courses, and the number of courses, you should take to achieve your educational goals. You can contact a representative toll-free at 866.883.0522.

What happens if I am traveling and need a leave of absence?

If you are unable to finish your high school course (not a dual-credit course) within one year from the date of course purchase, you may purchase an extension for $100. The extension will provide an additional two months to complete the course. If you have a medical issue preventing you from completing your course, please contact our Director of Education.

Can I go into the military with a diploma from your school?

If you are interested in obtaining a diploma to meet military entrance requirements, you will need to contact the specific branch of the armed forces to discuss the acceptance of your diploma.

Will colleges accept my Olympus High School diploma as a normal high school diploma?
